My son and I visited this farm today. The store hours posted on the door indicated that we were there during store hours however the door was locked. I knocked and an employee opened the door with a frown - never said hello. I went to purchase some candy for my son and was told there is a ten dollar minimum to charge. I also told the employee that unfortunately one of the horses had bitten me outside. She said with no apology and a complete absence of warmth or interest - that these are animals and they can bite and there are signs warning people of that. I asked if she is the owner and she said no. Upon leaving I went back to the fenced in area where the horses are kept and then I did see a small sign quite covered with dirt warning of the possibility of a horse bite. The signs should be larger and cleared of dirt by staff more often and the employees (certainly the one in the store today) need re-training in customer service and interpersonal skills. Awful experience. I left there with my son crying and a feeling that the staff are not kind.
We get our hay and chicken feed here. Never had a problem. Staff has always been helpful. Product has always been great,
I loved this farm so much I've been riding here for 6+ years and have had pretty good service..... Until now. They increased the rates for my trainer who I love by the way but I'm not paying for $20 extra for someone who is a pretty average trainer. Then a few weeks before and continually after that we have been getting our lessons canceled! I ride every other week but yet I can't get 1 lesson! I have gone from never wanting to leave this farm to looking for new ones! Please read and change this sweet meadow or I'll go and find a farm that wants me to ride!
Plant selection is on the smaller side, but they have mostly herbs and some veg. Local honey from their own hives, small farm stand with a few veggies. Decent amount of parking. Only issue here is $10 minimum which is kind of ridiculous and as of late has kept me from stopping there. Who carries cash anymore? They should probably adjust their prices accordingly instead, it would make more sense. This is the reason I give it three stars instead of five, because it really is that much of an inconvenience and a turnoff.
My Guinea Pigs have been loving their hay for years!!! Thank you
